Guess I'll chime in here with my experience yesterday. I had a bad bearing on my Campy Ultra-Torque Cranks. None of the 5 Bike shops I called had them in stock (nor did they tell me that I could use any 6mm 6805 bearing). Furthermore, they were not sure they could install them because they didn't have the special tool. So I ordered the bearings and $50.00 tool from Licktons. If they were more familiar with the Campy stuff, it appears that they could use any bearing puller and do the install. I was trying to avoid having to buy the tool, but no luck.
This is pretty much the exact kind of thing I've been dealing with for the past couple of years.
