Funny - most racers I've known (actual racers - not people who claim to be racers because they think it impresses people) don't give a crap about most things regarding bicycle appearance. I've wrenched so many of their bikes -- ever seen a handlebar tape job by a racer?? They change the tape so often, most do a terrible, quick job and leave all kinds of exposed bars under the tape .
