Tubulars are where its at, yes, they can be a pain, but not that bad, and I think for a close comparing ride clincher, the tubular will last longer.
Now, I will admit fresh tubulars will flat faster than aged ones, just how it is, the fresh rubber allows the debris to stick deflatingly well. I think buying tubulars from a shop that has aged them is worth 20% if you don't have some in the closet ageing right now.
Minimum of 6 months, a year is better.
High end clinchers will probably benefit from ageing too, but I doubt many do.
Good points on aging.
One of our local racing shops has four or five nice Vittorias waiting for my wife.
Very close to the cash register I might add. At full price.
