Too bad you couldn't draft the other folks riding, that was half of the fun of my session, working together and taking turns at the front.
I think the place I went to does give a discount if you sign up for a bunch of rides, but it's still like 20 bucks/session so I don't think I am going to sign up. I don't mind riding the rollers when the weather prevents real riding.
So what was your final w/kg?? I was kinda happy mine was 2.5 as my teammates were both 2.3....although I suspect for a 90 minute ride 2.5 w/kg is nothing spectacular.
The training sessions where we suffer and get yelled at by a coach, work out to around $20 per session. The package I bought includes 5 free open spins, and 2 anaerobic threshold tests. $20-$25 for just the open spin seems high to me too.
It was enough for me to try to keep up with the couple that were in front of me, and to not get caught by the people behind. I'm just not focused enough to push myself in any way when I ride by myself.
I didn't actually look at my average w/kg, since I've only really focused on the watts, my HR, and cadence. My average watts always come out to embarrassingly low. (I suck at this sport, but that's the point of taking the class, it can only get better.) Most of the men in the group today were around 170-185. The women were from 86-140. I was in the middle-ish.
I'm still trying to figure out how I stay in zone 5 for my HR for 90 minutes though. (Based on my AT test zones) I know I asked about this before, and was told it was probably doing some good, but I keep getting into arguments with the Mr. about him wanting me to be in zone 2/3. Eff me, I'm slow as it is, to get my heart rate that low I have to be barely moving.
