^ I agree with that. HOWEVER, unless you're going to change tires or bikes all the time the best option is a ~35mm studded tire. They work nearly as well on fluffy snow, are wide enough to handle semi packed snow, and are the only thing that will grip ice. And if you're riding where there's snow you are going to encounter ice eventually.
