OP - When you are on a bike, you actually are "technically" considered a motorist, and must abide by the same laws as you do in a car. You can get pulled over for running stop signs/red lights, speed, RUI (riding under the influence), etc etc. Also, do you really want to go barreling through an intersection when you know a car could come from any direction if they don't see you? Been there, done that thank you very much(they were at fault). I sure as hell don't want to go through that again.
