thats a little scary for the streets! i have a set of 70s detto pietro cleated shoes, and recentley tried them on my pista, i could tell a difference but not much different from my slip on vans.
I've been doing it for years without a problem. It does require some forethought and coordination but becomes quite automatic very quickly.
