Hi,
I have a set of older 105 aero brake levers that I've used with 2 sets of cantilevers - a low profile (oryx) and a medium profile (alivio, with the non-threaded pad posts) and have never had good braking power -- even when the yoke is set quite low and the pads extended quite far from the brake arms at rest.
I've read Sheldon's geometry bit, other articles, and have quite a bit of experience with cantilevers -- please refrain from telling me to lower the yoke or to read something

This is really an isolated incident with these specific brake levers.
I read somewhere the some of the aero levers out there were not really designed for cantilever brakes, but more for regular road brakes -- and as such have lower mechanical advantage that is noticeable when using cantilevers instead of road brakes.
Is this true? Are there any current levers that specifically have
higher leverage?
Do those older levers with the housing exiting the tops have better leverage?
Thanks,
