Im running tektro levers short/long reach and the work really good with canti ive got them paired with mid level suntour XCM's. On another bike im running micro shift brifters with oryx cantis and after a while of trial and error finally got them adjusted to work well, the brifters have very little cable travel and were meant for short reach calipers. So maybe just pick yourself up a pair of tektros they are pretty cheap i find them comfortable and well built.
