If you're referring to that gruffness, it can be off-putting if you're not used to it (it's more bark than anything). I am used to it, they do have nice stock, and I'm in walking distance.
He just wasn't knowledgeable. He said anything to try to make a sale. I work at a shop and knew what I was talking about. He also told me there was no way my bike fit even though I didn't have it with me. I've had a $225 fitting on it. It fits.
