Maybe, but I wonder if shallow drops are made for bikes that have a lot of saddle-to-bar drop in the first place. They'll have the rider pretty close to a flat back when on the hoods already, and deep drops will be
very far down.
Personally, I like "normal" drops -- deeper than shallow or compact, that is -- so that riding in the drops still gets me low even if the flats & hoods aren't crazy low.
