Thomson seatposts can be found on eBay for pretty damn cheap if you keep looking. Besides, it's not like anyone's putting one on a SE Draft or Free Spirit conversion.
call me crazy, but i dont think msrp on a thomson is "that bad" cheaper is better, but for its weight and quality, the price is hard to beat.
