The adjusters found on some downtubes are leftover from the days when downtube bosses were going the way of dinosaurs with SIS/Ergo shifting. In reality they are an extra adjuster- nice to have but not necessary. You already have a barrel adjuster where your cable runs into your rear derailleur that serves the same function. If you have them, you can adjust your skipping rear derailleur while still riding- I've used it occasionally in races after a wheel change. You don't really need anything for the front derailleur. I don't know what your Cdale looks like, but you can just run the cable housing directly into the cable stop and not worry about it, or you can buy a couple of barrel adjusters that are intended for brakes (they have a round nut on them so the cable stop doesnt need to be threaded) from your local shop and use these if they fit into the cable stop for a little bit of extra adjustment travel- I did that with one of my cross bikes.

You can use some version of this- your local shop has them or can order from QPB
