Must be a sore spot, to prompt a rant like that. Not a unique rant, mind you. I think I read most of that on blogs in various places. I saw an article in NY Time Magazine about this very subject too.
You don't know much; like you don't know that there is no such think as "computer assisted" mechanical design. There is "computer assisted drafting" (CAD), and there is "computer assisted manufacturing" (CAM), but no "computer assisted design". There's always a creative human brain behind every product ever designed. I'm feel sorry for you, that you don't recognize creativity when it is uncoupled from the humanities.
