Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

The problem with Loctite is that it will fix the nut firmly in place and prevent changes in the quide's adjustment. Yes, 242 can be broken loose without heat but it's intended for threads that aren't going to be moved or adjusted.

The lock, star or split washer approach is more versatile.
