I prefer to use my Trangia bottle because it is easier to pour into the burner and it does not leak. The bottles that I get my alcohol in here in Korea are quite leaky for some reason, but this is really off topic.

Yes, I have the Trangia 27 stove kit and could add a multi fuel burner to it. Quite an expensive option, though maybe not more so than buying an MSR stove.

As for people who say I am trying to "reinvent the wheel," alcohol stoves have been around far longer than complicated multi fuel pressurized stoves. If I was the kinda guy that wanted to stick with the "tried and true" I probably wouldn't be cycling across Asia in the first place

I had been assuming that I would at least be able to find rubbing alcohol in these parts of the world. Wherever there is a pharmacy I would be able to have fuel. Does anyone with experience in these regions have an opinion on whether or not this is the case?
