That's interesting. I'd always though that both the earliest sunset and the latest sunrise would occur on winter solstice. Turns out sunset up here doesn't start getting later until Dec. 20, when we go from 3:40 pm to 3:41 pm. Sunrise, on the other hand, keeps coming on later until Dec. 26.

I think you mean 16:49, unless your graph is off by two hours and sunset was actually at 2:49 pm.
