Wattage numbers can be exaggerated by the vendors as well...
I doubt the Chinese vendor's motor is a true 800-1000w unit.. Those alone usually cost at least $150..
I would bet they're just using a controller that will put out 50a, and that's where they get the 800w figure.

48v is a good amount of voltage, for small hills.

I'll tell you, I've purchased from this vendor since early last year and the motors are still running well.

okay...I just dont want to purchase a kit that is underpowered for my 260 lb body and the hilly roads here in arkansas...

20 - 25 mph is fast enough for me { I dont need a kit that does 30 + mph **
but it must have a decent amount of torque/power for my steep roads.
