we used small torches at Trek in the '70s, so it's not a new development. It's simply a matter of comfort. I have seen a name builder say that he uses a Victor J100, which to me is a little on the heavy side. To me the only time I notice an issue with my AW1A is if I'm doing something non-bike related and have the torch on for much longer than I normally would, then it gets a little warm. A bigger torch is not going to do that. The AW1A delivers plenty of heat, that's not an issue. Why hold up a heavy torch when you don't have to?
