Depends who I'm touring with. I've done a lot of my touring solo. When riding with others, we've adjusted to what works and sometimes that seems to work best with some pre-defined conventions of where/how we stop. This allows us to experience things at paces that make sense.

I've been on both sides of the equation of cycling slower or faster than person I cycle with. When slower, I'm just as happy to separate and regroup than feel like I'm slowing someone else down. When faster, I'm a little more inclined to slow my pace and stay with other person but can also relate to why this might make them feel hurried.
