From reading this board and several other sites I found that the Kona Hoss is the fat guy bike so I went to the LBS and they did not have a dee lux. They called and apparently the Kona Hoss Dee Lux is all sold out so they had a kona hoss in stock and offered to do this for me:

Put on the Race Face Ride XC ISIS Crank Set & SRX bottom bracket from the truvativ blade isis crank set and BB.(+$140)

Put on a fork comparable to the dirt Jam pro 100mm from a mrazocchi dirt jam comp(+150) (they were pushing me on the fox fork (vanilla I think it was called) but it would be an additional $100 on top of the +150 )

Put on XT front and rear Derailers for the Deore ($50)

Put on Hayes Hyd brakes with carbon levers and 8 Inch rotors instead of the SHimano mechanicals ($170 since they were blowin them out)

Swap on oversized bars and stem for reg sized bars and stem($30)

The kona cost is $799 the dee lux is $1099

The Kona with the add ons mentioned above is $1300 or $1400 with the Fox bling bling fork and ive got a good bud that rides for the shop so I may be able to get a little bit of a break.

Will I walk out with a solid bike at a good price? Im a big guy but I know once my endurance is up I am going to be pounding this thing just like I do my dirtbikes I race...

The only thing that will NOT be better is the wheels are not the sun ditch witch rims they are Alex DM-24...are these wheels good?

I want a solid bike at a good price...are these add ons better then the LBS doing a bike swap with another dealer and me getting the deelux for 1099?

Im coming from an unsuspended 1992 Aluminum Trek 8000 with XT components.

Any help is appreciated...I am probably going to make a decision by friday.
