Bikes: Trek 820 mtb, A no name red steel pipe bike, my commuter

Just cold at 13 F ( -10 C). The secondary roads are in much better shape today, still icy, but very manageable. Yesterday, being the first snow fall, the roads were a mess. Earlier traffic created tracks that froze under more snow, so riding was difficult. I came to one intersection and
going left uphill, I just couldn't get any traction, so I went straight and came out the way going right. After watching traffic on one of the
hills, I just got up on the sidewalk and finished that stretch. At the last intersection, I just got into the right lane and stayed there, traffic
got in the left and no one complained. Most drivers seemed cautious, so that was good. I am on my MTB today and it did a good job. All in all it was only 2 in ( 5 cm) by the time it was finished, but being the first one, it is always messy.
