That used to work pretty well but the prices got pretty high in our area and LA. The mini vans are a bit more comfortable than big buses and most small cabs today. My city has a fleet of Scion xBs but they never seem too busy. What I was thinking of was a shuttle service that would pick people up at shopping malls, business parks, and the hotel district like I have seen in South American and African nations. It tends to be a lot less expensive than a Taxi. If bus services weren’t being cut it wouldn’t be necessary for a private sector to step in. I think about how Vessel Assist got started when the Coast guard stopped towing people in for free.

It must be remembered that I live in an area that once had The Red Cars.
