I didn't realize there was a trend happening. I just did it cuz it could be done since it had the same clearance as a Crosscheck. It's the Mercier Kilo WT with 50mm Schwalbe Big Apple tires. It's super duper fun and comfy. I recommend big tires since they are so plush. It is more work, but you'll also be getting stronger (It's fixed but I have two brakes on it to help stop all that rotational weight).I'm all for having loads of space for big tires and switching to smaller if the mood suites you. I really enjoy the bike and it's my 2nd favorite bike after the Surly Crosscheck.
