There are some very attractive Mixte ("Ladies model") Ticino bikes from Electra.
Trek also makes a similar "looking" model but with some pretty crude cheap components to keep prices low (such as a painted non-adjustable stem/handlebar unit -ugh!)
Electras are made of aluminum alloy so I suspect very reasonable weights and they come completely decked out with rear rack and alloy fenders in the classic Franch style. These have smoothe shifting modern drive train components and are available in 7 or 8 speeds with single chainrings or as 16 18 or 20 speed bikes with double chainrings. They even chose to use TA inspired alloy cranks. The curve of the twin bars keeps the step-through height lower than straight tubes.
These are VERY classy looking city bikes!
So, if price is not a consideration...
