Thanks for the thread, I'm putting together my own kit and I'm planning on doing a few experiments. I'm going with multiple flash heads triggered through optical slaves. I'm accumulating a few old Vivitar 283's.

Light is the hard part with the CFL's, it's hard to balance your depth of field with the available light. Are you using a tripod?
