I don't think it's even close to the worst in decades. About 4-5 years ago one october we had about 10 inches in 12 hours at my place, and that was just the start of a pretty rainy season. The debris basin above my house was filling with enough water that the neighborhood was hanging out on the bridge over the stream feeding it, watching to see when it would overflow the dam. It didn't, but went pretty high up. So far the water in my yard from this set of storms hasn't gotten close to what we had during some of those storms.
