Yeah, I kind of remember that year. A few years later it was even worse and the weather got worse and worse going down toward Julian (snow and sleet). So bad that a bunch of us took refuge in a large outhouse until we could catch a ride into Julian. Most years it's just been cold out of Pine Valley and gets nicer as you get into Julian.
