I reserve the use of my MTBs for those times when there is the possibility of rain. My trike has a rear fender but no front fenders and I found it absolutely miserable to ride in the rain the few times I have tried it. 20 inch wheels throw up a lot of spray compared to larger wheels. We are in our 4th day of rain from the storm that is inundating California. Usually the storms don't make it over the Rockies but this one is a doozie. It takes a pretty good storm to clean the grit, oil, and rubber particles off of our roads so the first day or so of any rain is pretty nasty to ride in. I also use the MTBs for off road or gravel road riding. So, the trike accounts for perhaps 95% of my yearly mileage, maybe more.
