Just one thing, though. If you keep it up into the winter (I'm guessing you will!), watch out for ice. A patch of ice will give you a Very Unhappy end to a ride before you have a chance to avoid it. I haven't Quite wiped out yet, but I do know there are a Lot of emergency room trips due to commuters with broken bones around here in the winter. Ice is slick, sometimes unavoidable, and very unforgiving when you go down on it. I'm planning on turning an old set of my MTB tires into studded tires.
Already on to the "ice" thing. If you read some of my post, you will see that I am riding the motorcycle more and longer in the cold temps. I hit the gym 6 days a week. Most of the time I am on the motorcycle. I leave at 5 am in the morning..Temps this morning was 17 degrees. All exits, I slow down, no sudden accelerations or braking moves. The ground is cold, and the tires are cold. In the wee hours of the morning it is dark. All suspected ice is rode over gingerly and no input whatsoever. Coming over to the bicycle and dealing with the ice is piece of cake compared to dealing with it on the motorcycle. Thanks for the tip, one CAN never bee TOO CAREFUL.
