However, when a couple old ladies passed me on the trail while I was gasping for air, I knew it was time to get serious. I started ramping up the miles and entered my first mtn bike race in 2005. Got destroyed, but had fun. Got a road bike in 2007 and now road bike more than mountain. I am just now good enough to hang with the A club. It's been a long fun journey. Hope you stick with it as well!

You aren't kidding about the riding around here being great. I ride along Tramway since they have a bike path. At least at this point to build up my conditioning although it can get a bit tricky navigating through the weekend morning joggers.

Been doing a lot of night riding since that's when I can squeeze it in and have spent some serious coin on safety gear after reading some of the stories on here.

I've ballooned from 210 to 258 thanks to grad school and a full time job, but on the road back to dropping the pounds. Already dropped 12lbs since Thanksgiving.

Gotta post up some pics of the rig.
