I think I'm going with a one-two-punch solution here. I think I'm going to score a set of bar-end mirrors, and I'm going to go with a helmet mount mirror. The helmet mount may, in the end, I think, be the best solution. It will get the mirror up a little higher than my present eyeglass mount, and I won't have to fool around with installing and removing them from my glasses. Also switching from clear to sunglasses will be easier. I also have a set of Wiley-X wrap-around glasses with a prescription insert that are difficult to mount the eyeglass-mount mirror that I presently use - a Take-A-Look, so the helmet mount will get around that.

When I first started riding I had a lot of trouble adopting some of these "dorky" seeming things like eyeglass-mounted mirrors. After several years now, I've learned to embrace my inner Fred!
