hey guys......good to see a new thread going......
when my LBS called Kona to order my Hoss dee lux...they had 1 left in a size 16 for my stubby self.....I jumped on that like white on rice......while everyone has given excellent advice, I have my own opinion, which I'll share with you.
Mikabike is riding a slightly upgraded Hoss at 550+ and really hasnt broken anything....yet. Instead of upgrading stuff that hasnt really proven itself yet, why not upgrade things as you feel you dont like them, or they brake or fail and throw your big ass into the woods, right over the handlebars? I won't lie, those upgrades are really sweet, but your LBS is making too much money off you trying to accomadate your wants....I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but unless you ride all the time, you really might be fine on a straigt hoss.....the componentry of today's bikes is so much improved that your 92 trek's parts might only be as good as a cheaper bike's today...no joke.....when your bike's that old......some parts will surprise you.....Hola back man......
