While there are some really helpful, positive responses, there are also
many negative ones. Do we really need a thread on how to socialize with the public? Do paraplegics have discussions like this on paraplegic-forums.com?
"Hey guess wat guyz I was at the store the other day and some dude was asking me questions about having prosthetic legs like how far do I walk on them and do I wait for the walk signal at cross walks he was all up in my biznass how do you all react to situations like this kthx guyz"
If I was in the supermarket and struck up a friendly conversation with a cyclist about "how many miles did you ride?", and got the "go f*ck yourself" response in return, I would/could only say, "have a nice day", or, "happy holidays". Remember, you may be cussing out another cyclist, or you may be pissing in the face of a road-rager. Next time I get buzzed/honked at by an SUV, I'll remember (lovingly) this thread about how some cyclists choose to paint their demographic as elitist pricks to the general public.
