This is a ten dollar garage sale bike that weighed a ton before I wrenched off the various crummy components some jerk had hodge-podged onto the frame. It’s too small for me, but it’s a perfect fit for my 22 year old son, and he’d been waiting for me to find a frame for him that he could help work on. We built our own bullhorn handlebars by cutting down a set of no-name drops I had in the bins. This picture was shot before we installed the brakes.

The important things: (a) it's a pretty cool lugged steel frame, (b) it looks great for a hipster bike, while maintaining most of the original classic character, (c) my son got to learn some important wrenching lessons, (d) no drewing: we can put components back on at will.

Full disclosure: No bikes were harmed in the conversion of this project.
