HHAHAHAhahahhaHAHhahahAHhAHahaahAHHaHaha.
Thanks, I needed a good laugh.
I'm not sure why, but that was funny. Maybe because the guy is so stalwart, or maybe because he is riding a mountain course, without a helmet, without brakes, on a fixed wheel wrapped in a thin road racing tire, and even more hilariously, in single sided Look duck pedals. hahahaha. I used to have some of those on a road bike, worst bike gear I ever bought. Even without a driven crankset to come around and make things more difficult, those pedals were difficult enough to tip up and combine with the cleat. They converted me quickly to the mountain-bike pedals on road bikes school of thought. I did have a kid though, so I guess I am fortunate.
Still, I think that was cool. I like weird bike races. Maybe the guy was testing the grounds for a new cycle challenge: the Mountain Dew Xtreme Uphill Downhill insane bike race.
If, instead of one artsy looking guy, there were 20 guys doing this on fixed gear bikes with costumes and muppet characters attached to their helmets, I'd think it was super badass and I'd look for a similar event in my area.
Maybe it's going to be like the coaster brake downhill races, or the costume XC mountain bike 24hr relays, or maybe it will be The Next Big thing like Psychocross.
