There's a barrel adjuster that goes into the (back on shimano) of the derailler. But if the derailleur or hanger was bent then the limit screws may not be adjusted properly anymore, which might allow your RD to go into your spokes. I'm going to repeat the earlier advice that you should probably have someone who has more experience working on bikes look at it.
