It sounds to me like you need to see the dorm room first. You may also want to consider bike storage when choosing the dorm.
Where I went to college, my dorm room bed was a built-in slide-in bed that formed the bottom part of a sofa and there would have been no way to put a bike stand behind it. Some of the older dorms at the same college had larger rooms with furniture that could be moved around, but you wouldn't need a bike stand there, there was lots of floor space. My daughter's dorm room at a different college had two beds, but they weren't against walls. So you really don't know what you're dealing with until you see it.
If you're not too concerned about appearance, it wouldn't be too hard to buy some 2x2's or similar wood and make whatever rack you needed, if you have a place to put it.
(FYI, if you're figuring to ride a bike around campus, you probably want an old junky bike, and then you lock it up on the bike rack outside with the 50 other old junky bikes. The rack idea assumes you have a nice bike that you're riding longer distances on.)
