I like Trekking Bars myself.. But with those you can Buy Pauls Thumbies
and use the Core of the indexed shifters, the levers, as a thumb shifter..

I resolve the handlebar bag situation by stacking 2 stems on the threadless steerer..
Lower of the 2 has a tube in it, I attach the Bar bag mount kit to it.

Yea an Open face stem Is required on that H bar ../-\

Bike Friday has a different H bar, |-| to pack they came apart in the middle ..
held together by the stem .
