I've been using the Titec H-bar on my touring bike for about a year and really like it (see photo below). Comfortable hand positions and the primary/outboard position provides fantastic control of the bike. There are a few practical limitations. Shifter options are limited; I use old Deore thumbshifters (original to my bike) and they work really well with the setup. The suggestion to use Paul Thumbies + the core of bar end shifters is a good one. Also, you might want to check out Jeff Jones' website as I believe he has photos of various setups. Re handlebar bags, I use a small Topeak bag that fits no problem. If you prefer a larger handlebar bag, you would have to be creative.
In terms of fine tuning setup, my experience was that I ended up using a longer stem than I would use for a more "normal" setup. So I do recommend trying a few stem lengths to dial in the fit.
