Clarification:
- Bare aluminum is an excellent heat conductor.
- Some pots and pans with a stainless cooking surface use aluminum underneath that surface for better heat distribution.
- Perfluorochemicals were used in the manufacture of non-stick cookware, although I do not know if they are still used or not. Perfluorochemicals are not environmentally friendly. But, using a non-stick pan is not a human health problem as long as you don't heat it over 500 degrees (F).
