But you did ... hence the silly riposte interpolated above
Perhaps if you read between the lines and my second post, your wouldn't want to be trying to be smart with ripostes that, by your own reasoning, attack me, but contribute nothing to the discussion.

Dnvr, you really do need to relax a bit more. Maybe you just see red when I post here, but you can get yourself into a whole lot of trouble, and obviously offend a whole lot more people with your comments than I do with mine.

You see, the world depends on numbers. Time... numbers. The computer you type your posts on... numbers. Your health... numbers. The division of forums into subforums based on age... numbers. Your income and taxes and ability to live comfortably... numbers. The ratio of the ideal picture format... numbers. The food you eat and how it is grown... numbers. Gear ratios on a bicycle... numbers. Wheelbuilding... numbers.

Numbers are how we live our lives, and to disparage anyone who is interested in them fails to recognise their importance. And in my experience, my jibe about those who have little interest in number being "arty types" carries more truth than some here would like to admit. Take a look at the decline in mathematicians graduating from universities across the world compared with the burgeoning number of arts and related graduates, and you will see what I mean.

I mentioned balance in my second post. Take a look at the guy who painted the Mona Lisa and drew an amazing number of engineering drawings and got inbto the intricacies of human anatomy. Da Vinci probably had more of a handle on this balance between numbers and art that anyone in living history.
