Lucky you, I would love to ride the L'Eroica. Besides upholding the 'rules' and getting adequately beefy tires, I would also try to show some charismatic style. What I have seen from that event, being dressed up and riding a unique bike is half the fun.
I think getting dirty and going where most collectors and riders of grails won't go adds needed adventure and spice. It goes well with the spirit of early classics, and the L'Eroica is there to give us clean riders of immaculate pavement a taste of what it used to be.
