Well, the typical end to a long distance C/L deal. I agreed to pay full price, time to pick up set, agreed on the deposit, and was heading out the door when the phone rang. Got scooped by a local. Funny this stuff lasted for a few weeks in a large, pretty vibrant bike market, and once a guy from Hooterville decides it is going to work out, the deal goes kaput.
Seller was a nice guy, can't really blame him when someone in person shows him cash, versus a guy 725 miles away.
The parts alone were in the $2500 to $3000 range, plus a nice collection of high end, mostly 1980s Schwinns (Ciruits, Tempo, Peloton, Voyageur, etc). Just wasn't meant to be.
On to the next deal.
That sure would have been sweet to have a C&Ver pick up that lot. If it would have helped I would have offered a donation to your cause if you agreed to take
many many pictures of all the goodies so we could all live vicariously without having to personally take on the financial risk. Good effort though. Cant do much about a seller pulling a snake move, its his right to do what he wants with it but still, its not very cool.
