Commuter and recreational. Fitness comes from those two things.

I can do centuries, but I don't really like them. I have ADD and no matter what the activity, it's a real strain beyond 4-5 hours (which explains why I work part-time). I'm not fast enough to do a century in that time. Same goes for randos. (Which also explains why competition is out.) I like metrics though.

I don't like pack riding with inexperienced people and prefer to give my charity directly, so charity rides are out.

Touring? See the 4-5 hour limit above.

Off road? I'm car-free in live in the center city, so I'd have to ride on-road for 30 miles or so to get to any legal off-road riding in my area. Not really worth the trouble.
