Wow - as always thanks for your replies.
I've now read what you write and I guess it's now up to my "inner me" to find out which solution is the best in my case. I'll be driving a long way - Europe, Asia, South America, Africa (if God & life supports me :-)) and to me weight is to be kept low ... we have a saying here in Denmark that "many creeks (brooks) make for a big stream" and I prefer to keep weight as low as possible with every item - and still have the option to cook a very good dinner or tea :-)
@cyccommute: Hmm... Thanks for the information. To this end I spoke with a representative from Trangia in Sweden the other day and she said that (their) hard-anodized aluminum pots are not (fully) diffusion-tight and from your information probably less so when used for some time ...
Have any of you experience with which fuels are easy to get throughout the world? An outdoor company representative has told me that using normal car fuel for a multi-fuel stove is not that attractive due to additives to the fuel, however, from the point of view of accessibility it seems to me to me the most accessible type of fuel ...
