The fact is that when you use the roads, you should be as well informed about the situation around you as any other road user.
I wasn't going to argue about motorcycles' speeds and I myself am usually faster than motor traffic during commute times. That's one reason why I prefer to ride my bike.
I think I am better informed about the situation. My fully functioning neck allows me a 360 degee view of the road and my nearly silent drivetrain and lack of windows allows me to hear hear what's going on.
