I was pulled over with my friend for skipping a stopsign, but the cop let us go because 1) We were only 16 at the time and 2) We didn't have our driver's license, which he asked for.

But... let me tell you about San Mateo/Woodside's mass ticketing event:

My team has Saturday group rides, which aren't hammerfests but usually average 19-22mph for about 35 miles. Anybody can tag along, so it wasn't just riders from my club. I wasn't here this day (I was lucky) but apparently over 50 of them skipped a stopsign. Because cops have tension between the cyclists in Woodside, CA, they monitor us pretty well, so they probably have a good idea of our route. Well there was a cop hiding at that intersection and about 50 or more of them got ticketed somewhere around $400 more or less each. A few weeks after I first heard about it, I started hearing random cyclists talking about it, even a bike shop cashier telling a customer. So yeah that's the story of the mass ticketing event (from a secondary source).
