...it is frowned upon to ride with headphones in on the street. It basically goes against all ethical safety measures so it wouldnt make sense for a company to make a product that just impedes user safety. That being said, I ride almost all the time with some sort of MP3 player. Is it safe? No. Do I ride on a college campus 60-70% of my rides? Yes. And I almost always have headphones in while I mountain bike. But I know the truth that it isnt safe. I just choose which risks I take based on my ride.
I am also on campus most of the time. I never usually blast the music though, just so I can hear a horn.. Im usually pretty observant though. Always aware of my surroundings.
