So far only positive encounters - while on a bike.

New Years Eve, last week, Critical Mass Fort Worth. One of the guys on the ride was on a mountain bike, riding down the median on University, right through the TCU campus. He was bunny hopping in and out of the flower beds and riding some on the curb. He got a little off balance and had to hop into the street. A police car was passing in the left lane and had to get all over the brakes to keep from hitting him. The cop waved and went right on by.

Last May, Ride of Silence, downtown Fort Worth. We were making 7 loops around several block in the heart of downtown, stopping for all the red lights, then covering the intersection to make sure everybody made it through. The bike-mounted police noticed what was going on, then started giving us a police escort. They were running it just like the motor patrols do for funeral processions: the guy who keeps the intersection clear passes everybody to clear the next intersection. I'm sure it was a lot harder blowing around everybody on a mountain bike with body armor and a utility belt. Those guys were amazing.
